Sitsao Black-Winged Stilt Preserve Area

  • The 50 hectares wetland is located in the most wicked area---A1. The purpose is to create a breeding zone of the migrant birds in particular Black-Winged Stilt as well as for the other birds (Avocet, Black-faced spoonbill, and Little Tern, etc.), to spend winters.

ChouchaiWetlandPark

 

  • Chouchai Wetland, situating in one of the four major habitats of Pheasant-tailed Jacana, aims to create a new 10-hectare habitat for the specie. Now it has also begun the action of recovering mandarin ducks and various kinds of butterfly and has been expecting to be an urban wildlife garden of Kaohsiung City.??

YuanchungkanWetlandPark

  • Yuanchungkan Wetland was originally fish farms. Through the striving of Wetlands Taiwan and other environmental groups, it is expected to recover wildlife ecology and be the biggest mangrove wetland park in Kaohsiung city.

BanpingLake
  • Banping Lake was a mining area between the 1910s to mid-1980s. It is a grit chamber that the cement companies dug to defend landslide. The limestone here is formed by coral reef. Wildfowl tend to fly to Banping Lake for a short break. The founding of Banping Wetlands Park has added a new habitat in Kaohsiung Wetland Eco-Corridor.

I-land Wetland

  • I-land Wetland is one of the most important freshwater lakes. It is featured by some cherished aquatic plants. Wetlands Taiwan had funded money with local environmentalists to adequate this area as a protect zone and expect to recover the freshwater ecology.
