Courses for the volunteers

The Systematical Education Programs for Volunteers

  • Held five rounds and had trained 200 volunteers as human resources for organizing and guiding the eco-tours in Chiku and Sitsao.
  • Held four rounds for the volunteer guides of the Sitsao Wildlife Protection Area. Had trained 160 volunteers for human resources for interpreting the ecology of wetland, crabs, shellfish,coastal plants and so on.
  • Held four rounds for 300 volunteers on the introduction of the ponds' ecology, and the restoration of the Pheasant-tailed Jacanas.
  • Held courses to train the volunteers to protect the fish in the Kau-Pin River.
  • Unperiodically invited renowned professionals to give lectures. Besides,Wetlands Taiwan holds monthlyoutdoor activities.

 

Eco-Tours Services

  • Promoting the eco-tours along the southwestern coastal area of Taiwan, and expanding the courses to the diverse ecosystem of the wetlands. In addition to birds, crab, coastal plants, mangrove, shellfish, local history, salt fields, fishery and so on all are included.
  • Cooperating with other associations to promote the eco-tours in Chiku Lagoon.
  • Cooperating with other associations to set up the Black-faced Spoonbill Conservation Center, to promote the ecological education on the Black-faced Spoonbill.
  • Every year the Wetlands Taiwan had given eco-tour interpretation service to more than 3000 persons. In 1997 and 1998, Wetlands Taiwan had serviced more than 5000 persons.
  • Promoting the community ecological education by providing the course " Trees in the Parks and the streets".
  • Executing filed surveys on the ecosystem of Tainan county's ponds to promote the restoration of freshwater ponds.
